The University of Pitesti will host the 10th Congress of Romanian Mathematicians from 30 June to 5 July 2023, jointly organized by the Mathematical Sciences Section of the Romanian Academy, the Romanian Mathematical Society, the Simion Stoilow Institute of Mathematics of the Romanian Academy, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Bucharest and the University of Pitesti.
This meeting aims to continue an old tradition of Romanian mathematical congresses and is open to international participation. The first congress of Romanian mathematicians was organized in 1929 in Cluj, followed by Turnu Severin (1932), Bucharest (1945, 1956 and 2007), Pitesti (2003), Brasov (2011),
Iași (2015) and Galați (2019).
The Congress will also host the first Balkan Mathematical Conference (BMC), a regional meeting launched by the European Mathematical Society.
