It contains: the mission and objectives of the programme; the professional (CP 1 – CP 10) and transversal (CT 1 – CT 10) competences; the learning outcomes (knowledge, skills, responsibility and autonomy); the list of courses with codes, credits, hours and assessment form; the correlation between competences and learning outcomes; and, in the annexes, the list of specialisation courses and the list of scientific progress reports 1 – 7.

2. Structure of the doctoral programme

The doctoral programme has two components: the training programme based on advanced university studies, in Year I, Semester I, and the individual scientific research programme, in Semesters II – VIII, which ends with the preparation and public defence of the doctoral thesis.

Programme component Semesters Activities ECTS
Training programme based on advanced university studies I 3 compulsory complementary courses and 2 specialisation courses 30
Individual scientific research programme II – VIII 6 semester progress reports (180 ECTS); final report and thesis defence (30 ECTS) 210
Total I – VIII   240

3. Year I – Semester I: training programme based on advanced university studies

In Semester I, doctoral students take three compulsory complementary courses, common to the doctoral schools, and two specialisation courses of the Automotive Engineering field. All courses have 2 lecture hours per week and end with continuous assessment. The course titles in the table open the corresponding syllabus (PDF).

5. Course descriptions and assessment

The course descriptions (syllabi) for all courses in the curriculum, with the curriculum codes, are published on the Course descriptions page.

The results of Specialisation Courses 1 and 2 are recorded for each doctoral student in the Record sheet of compulsory specialisation courses (template, PDF, in Romanian): course, assessment committee, date and grade (S – satisfactory, B – good, FB – very good). The overall assessment of the training programme based on advanced university studies (PASSED / NOT PASSED) is established from the record sheet of compulsory complementary courses and the record sheet of compulsory specialisation courses, and is signed by the director of the doctoral school.

Legend: C – lecture; S – seminar; L – laboratory; P – project (hours/week). Category: C – complementary course; S – specialisation course. Assessment: V – verification (continuous assessment). Teaching hours = hours/week × 14 weeks; 1 ECTS = 25 hours of work.
