The Applied Modern Languages study programme is affiliated to the International Association of Applied Modern Languages (AILEA), which has its head office in France.
1.1.1 The purpose of an Applied Modern Languages university programme is to provide pluridisciplinary, theoretical and practical professional education, capable of training the students under the best conditions for their profession and especially for working in a company and, at the same time, to support research activities within this area.
1.1.2 An Applied Modern Languages university programme comprises at least two foreign languages associated with subjects from the targeted fields (Law, Economics, International Commerce Techniques, Communication, Translation Tools and Techniques, Information and Communication Technology, etc)
1.1.3 Both languages are major subjects (equal superior level).
1.1.4 The AML programme also comprises professional traineeships in companies or institutions.
1.1.5 The teaching staff is made up of academics and collaborators coming from the professional area.
2.1.1 A French or foreign programme which adopts these criteria can be recognised as being compatible by ANLEA/AILEA.
2.1.2 The recognition by AILEA of a study programme as being compatible with the AML programme aims at encouraging and supporting students’ pathways and mobilities, according to international agreements and national regulations, as well as the statutory framework of the universities involved.
2.1.3 AILEA federates institutions on the basis of their adherence to these principles, with a view to promoting the AML professional training offer.
3.1.1 The ANLEA/AILEA project is to foster the development of a French, European and international network of compatible study programmes in order to allow information dissemination and exchange, as well as collaboration among universites.
