PLANNING THE RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

The UPIT scientific research and university creation activity includes the following categories:

a) scientific research (fundamental and applicative);
b) development and innovation;
c) expertise and consultancy services;
d) artistic creation;
e) sport performance.

The planning of scientific research activities is carried out annually, at the level of research centers, academic departments and faculties, based on the internal research-development and innovation plans (PICDI) adopted by faculty Councils, aiming at their harmonization and integration into the institutional development strategy of UPIT, in the regional strategy and, respectively, in the national strategy. These planning activities are carried out in accordance with UPIT's 2017 Operational Program, the Regulation on Scientific Research and University Creation at the University of Pitesti and the Operational Procedure: Planning and Reporting of Scientific Research Outcomes.

UPIT's internal research and development plan for 2017 is presented at faculty and department level.

Strategic directions of scientific research and university creation
 
The University of Pitesti is geographically positioned in a region with great economic development potential, due to the existence of a large number of companies from the automobile and automotive industry, from the energy industry, as well as agricultural and horticultural research institutes. In this context, having regard to the National Strategy for Research, Development and Innovation 2014-2020 together with the instruments for its implementation, the University defined the fields of intelligent specialization for the fields of study within UPIT.

The research themes included in the research / development / innovation projects / plans of the teaching departments fall within the scientific areas of the study fields coordinated by them. The study programs of all cycles in UPIT contain specific activities for the preparation of students for scientific research.
