CAR 2017,
THE International Congress of Automotive and Transport Engineering, Pitești, ROMANIA

The 11th International Automotive Congress will be held in Pitesti, Romania, from 1-3 November 2017. The first Conference on Automotive Engineering in Pitesti was held in 1978. CAR 2017 is the annual congress of Society of Automotive Engineers of Romania (SIAR) and is organized under FISITA patronage by the University of Pitești. University of Pitești is one of the first 3 universities from Romania teaching on Automotive Engineering since 1969. The Congress will be an opportunity for delegates to: update skills and knowledge by attending focused technical sessions, gain insights into the automotive industry, network with potential new partners, clients and suppliers, view the latest technology products and services in the commercial exhibition.

SIAR Presentation
Society of Automotive Engineers of Romania (www.siar.ro) is the professional organization of automotive engineers, an independent legal entity, non-profit, active member of FISITA and EAEC. Founded in January 1990 as a professional association, nongovernmental, SIAR’s main objectives are: development and increase the exchange of professional information, promoting Romanian scientific research results, new technologies specific to automotive industry, international cooperation.

FISITA Presentation
FISITA (Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d'Ingénieurs des Techniques de l'Automobile – www.fisita.com) was founded in Paris in 1948 with the motto Progressons en Commun – Together we Progress. FISITA’s purpose is the same today as it was then: to bring together engineers from across the globe to share ideas and advance the technological development of the automobile.

Submitting Your Abstract
Abstracts must be submitted in English and must contain the following information: name, affiliation and contact details of author(s) (phone, email and address), tentative title of the paper, process by which the conclusions were reached, significance of the work to the progress of automotive engineering. A template of the abstract will soon be available on the congress website. Abstracts may be electronically submitted by using the congress email car2017@upit.ro, no later than 17th of April 2017.

Paper Evaluation & Acceptance
The congress scientific committee will evaluate papers entirely based on the abstracts submitted and their suitability for the subject area chosen. Therefore, descriptive material is essential and preliminary information such as diagrams, charts, photos etc. can also be submitted with your abstract.

Deadlines
The deadline for the receipt of abstracts is 17th of April 2017. Authors will be informed of the acceptance of their paper by 22nd of May 2017. Detailed information concerning manuscript preparation, accommodation and transportation will be sent to authors at that time. Final papers must be received by 24nd of July 2017. CAR 2017 offers an opportunity to present your latest technical developments, so papers are invited on (but not limited to) any of the congress themes. Any other paper presented on a topic not quoted above but having scientific or technical interest will be taken into consideration.

Student Conference
Students will be granted free access to the congress. Moreover, there will be two distinct activities for students:
1. a dedicated conference session
2. two national contests, one on Vehicle Dynamics, reaching in 2017 the 4th edition and the other on Automotive Computer Aided Designat its first edition in 2017.
